The goal of this project was to illustrate a possible binding and three interior chapter pages for Madeline Miller's book, Circe. This book is based in the Greek heroic age and beginning at the birth of the goddess Circe. Throughout the novel, you follow her through her own personal triumphs and failures, lessons of immortality and mortality, and how she faces her own internal battles in exile. The illustrated flowers are all spoken of within the novel and serve their own importance in each chapter. The binding design also includes a reference to specific themes; such as isolation, mortality, and self reflection.
